How much does target reflectivity affect a LiDAR selection?

Some targets in our warehouse are matte black while others have reflective labels. Product pages show different distance values under different conditions. How should these values be interpreted when defining a reliable operating range?

Treat distance figures as condition-dependent, not as one guaranteed boundary for every target. Define the lowest-reflectivity target you must detect and validate it at the required angle, distance and ambient-light condition.

Include both missed-return rate and range stability in the test. A target may still generate points while producing too much variation for the application rule you intend to use.
